There will almost always be a section of the district website listing the names and contact information of your local school board members. If their contact information is not listed, call your school’s office to request that information.

Education Stats And Facts

  • The Delaware Department of Education reports that in 2020 there were approximately 138,414 K-12 students enrolled in the public school system—including state, district, and charter schools. The state’s graduation rate is 87.7%.

    Delaware parents can use a standard application form to enroll their child in any school district, charter school, magnet school, or vocational-technical school (restricted by county), as long as their child is registered in their school of residence. There are also over 2,853 nonpublic schools in the state. Of those, 101 are private schools, and 2,752 are homeschools. These schools serve 15,829 private school students and 4,950 homeschool students.
